Vin Diesel's 'Fast & Furious 7' Co-Star Michelle Rodriguez Makes Feminist Point
"Fast & Furious 7" actress Michelle Rodriguez recently took to Facebook to share some feministic views.
On Oct. 16, Thursday, she wrote, "Whenever a female takes a strong stand for herself the majority of the time they have to narrow it down to being feminine and wearing dresses and being lipstick chic. It's either, 'You're too butchy or your (sic) too prissy.' It's hard to find that balance."
One day before she posted this, Rodriguez was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a tank top with the word "unstoppable" on it, black leggings and yellow trainers while jogging along the streets of Beverly Hills, Daily Mail reported.
Prior to landing her role in "Fast & Furious," Rodriguez had her breakout role in the 2000 independent film titled "Girlfight" as a troubled boxer. A year later, she played Letty Ortiz in "The Fast and the Furious."
She went on to reprise her role in "Fast & Furious" in 2009, "Fast & Furious 6" in 2013 and
"Fast & Furious 7," which will hit theaters in 2016.
Directed by James Wan, "Fast & Furious 7" also stars Lucas Black, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel playing the characters created by Gary Scott namely Sean Boswell, Ian Shaw, Luke Hobbs and Dominic Toretto respectively.
Diesel is also set to star in "The Last Witch Hunter," which is his first onscreen non-sequel movie since the 2008 film "Babylon A.D," according to Screen Rant.
In January, the 36-year-old actress made headlines after spotted kissing her then girlfriend 22-year-old supermodel Cara Delevingne while watching a basketball game. The two broke up in May.
After their breakup, Rodriguez briefly dated "Neighbors" actor Zac Efron while Delevingne was linked to 24-year-old "Skins actor" Jack O'Connell.
On her gender preference, Rodriguez previously explained that as a bisexual woman, she has gone both ways.
"I do as I please. I am too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks," she said.
Aside from being an actress known for playing tough and tomboyish characters operating in traditionally male dominated fields, Rodriguez is also a screenwriter and a disc jockey.
