'Interstellar' Movie Release Date 2014, Cast Stars Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, & Anne Hathaway Get Cover on Entertainment Weekly
The upcoming sci-fi film Interstellar from director Christopher Nolan is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year and the cast stars Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway are front and center on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's new issue.
"This is the first film I have made where the actual experience of the film is paramount to the audience," the film's director Christopher Nolan told the EW. "You would think that's the case with Batman movies but it's not; they're more dependent on the reaction of characters on screen. Interstellar is different. It harkens back to the direct experience films of 2001, where you're not just experiencing it through the characters, you are lost in it."
"The film is about human nature, what it means to be human. It sounds like a very grand statement, but I don't intend it to be. I mean it in the way, say, Treasure of the Sierra Madre is about dramatizing ideas of human nature," Christopher added.
Interstellar is set to hit theaters on November 7th.
Synopsis: "A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage."
Jessica Chastain tells E! that there is much more. She considers the movie really about a love story.
"It's definitely a love story, definitely a love story. As much as the film is about outer space and like the most incredible action, adventure, epic, epic film, it's so much about love", shared Chastain.
"I'll tell you a little bit," the Oscar nominee teased. "I'll tell you about my character. I play a woman who is like a scientist. She's super super smart and scientific and she's not whole at the beginning when we see here. There's an emotional part missing that we then wonder, 'Does she become completed by the end? Is there that journey?' I would say yes."
"Trust me," she continued, "there's no way to over hype this film. I never talked like this about a film, but when I saw it I was like I don't know what to do. It's great."
