Jem and the Holograms Release News: Hasbro's 1980's hit TV show Will be Realized By October 23, 2015 in the Big Screen
In a report by Variety, Hasbro's 1980's animated series, Jem and the Holograms, had been greenlighted by Universal for an October 23, 2015 release date.
The Jem and the Holograms plot would dwell on a certain small-town girl who became a global superstar with her three sisters.
Jem and the Holograms cast would be headlined by Aubrey Peeples as Jem, the leader of the band. Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko comprises the three sisters. Apart from Jem as the lead singer, the three other sisters plays the keyboard, the guitar and the bass player.
It also stars 1980's teen sensation Molly Ringwald and Natural Born Killers' Julliete Lewis.
The movie was announced last March and this came into realization due to the successes of Hasbro's Transformers and GI Joe film adaptations, which in turn allowed Hasbro to sign a six picture contract with Universal. Jem and the Holograms was part of the deal.
The movie was directed by Jon M. Chu and principal photography is now done that started last April.
The movie will surely bring nostalgic moments as it was a hit TV show in the 80's. The outrageous costumes are the ones to look out for and according to Peeples via E! Online, "I'm not allowed to say too much about what the looks are, but I can guarantee you that there's going to be a lot of pink. Nobody will be disappointed with the hair, makeup, and the fashion... We had a lot of different performance looks, each one is truly outrageous. I look at pictures and I can't believe that's me. It's so weird."
Jem and the Holograms release date is on October 23, 2015.
