Amazon Kindle Voyage News - A 'For Serious Readers-Only' Device Said to Beat Traditional Printed Books
The Kindle reader, when its first ever version was initially launched, it did not immediately become a hit product. Since then its main and sole purpose was to allow readers to read books and collect them in a single device that acted like a bookshelf, in which, many people thought was doomed to fail and be all forgotten. However, they thought it all wrong because Amazon's Kindle has flourished and it is now considered as the go-to equipment of many e-book readers when they need access to a certain title. And with the latest Amazon Kindle Voyage, the product line continues to thrive.
According to New York Times, the main concerns that people had in terms of not purchasing Kindle devices are a thing of the past. Now that more and more titles are becoming accessible through these devices, the number of people who own them has increased. The Voyage, which is being offered at a starting price of $199, is able to perform tasks that printed books do not have the ability to provide. One of these is done through the device's feature called X-ray, which is also built-in on some of the other Kindle models.
Basically, X-ray allows e-book readers to remember who is in the book they are currently reading. As New York Times has reported, it is a "handy pop-up guide" of each character in the book. In addition, this feature also comes with a sort of dictionary, which will enable you to find out the meaning of a word you are unfamiliar with. Flipping between the main text and the footnotes has also been made easier by the device.
As The Washington Post has cited, there have been some developments and improvements made on the device, which are the reasons behind the increase on its price. The built is made from magnesium material, the display screen features the highest Kindle resolution, as well as a set of new controls that make reading simpler.
So when is the device expected to be launched? According to Eweek, the device will be made available soon. Next month, consumers who will be ordering now will get their hands on it. One thing that you need to keep in mind though, if you would like to make an investment on this equipment, is that it is designed for a sole purpose: to be a book-reader and nothing else.
