Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Movie Release Date, Reveals and News: Groot to Make Comeback and Quill's Father is Revealed

To say that Marvel and Disney are having a good year would be an understatement; with both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy on the list of top 5 highest grossing movies of 2014 Stan Lee and co. are grinning all the way to the bank. Even before the first one was released there were rumors flying around that there would be a sequel and after one of the most successful opening weekends in history it was confirmed that there would be a sequel to the movie. Marvel has seen potential in this band of heroes and they may just be the new Fantastic Four (whose comics may have been cancelled). Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has already picked up the July 28^th 2017 date and considering the success of the first one which has grossed 739 million dollars worldwide already, other studios would be wise to give that date a wide berth.

In the first movie, we met this band of heroes that are thrown together by circumstance who end up saving the galaxy while only losing one of their crew. Groot, Rocket, Quill and Gamora became quick favorites of the silver screen. The sequel rumors are we will finally find out who Quill's father is. We expect some heavy flash backs and that action from the talking raccoon that we love so much.

Groot is expected to make a comeback probably from that sapling or something, we trust Disney will find a way. There are also rumors of a new villain flying around and even though 2017 seems like a long way in the future, Disney and Marvel are usually generous with information so we will get a few more leaks before July 28^th 2017. Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt are all expected to reprise their roles. New and interesting characters are expected as well.
