Suicide Squad Release Date, Reviews, Reveals, Spoilers and Updates: DC Comics Upcoming Movie Slated for Undisclosed 2016 Release Date
On the list of movies that DC and Warner Bros. are set to release is Suicide Squad. The movie is set for release on an undisclosed date in 2016, no doubt waiting for someone to get cocky enough and book a big date. The team made its first television appearance in the animated movie Batman: Assault on Arkham which was the litmus test for the team and boy did they pass, they passed enough to get their own movie. David Ayer who's most recent work on Fury has made him one of the most sought after directors in Hollywood. Other projects he has worked on include Training Day and S.W.A.T, so it's clear he knows a little something about directing action films.
The suicide squad is basically a team of villains that the government hired to take care of high risk black ops and half the time is not expected to come back hence the name. According to the comics they sometimes work in concert with another organization called Checkmate. The original team consisted of Rick Flag Jr., Karin Grace, Dr. Hugh Evans and Jess Bright. Their government handler is Dr. Amanda Waller. Over the years the team has been reconstructed over and over with members coming and going the new team consists of Black Manta, Deadshot, Deathsrtoke, Harley Quinn and Joker's daughter.
As at now cast and crew are still under wraps and the actors expected are still rumors. However, most times rumors out of Hollywood turn out to be true so Will Smith, Tom Hardt and Jesse Eisenberg are rumored to be on the cast list. Jesse has been seen on the set of Batman V. Superman and as such those of us who can put two and two together have deduced that he will play Lex in both movies, this brings a new twist to the DC universe of connecting movies to each other which has long been the preserve of Marvel. Model Cara Delevingne is also rumored to be coming to the movie as Harley Quinn. This is a major role and this fairly new face will really have to step up.
