Anubis Movie Release Date, Reviews and Updates: Cast and Crew not yet out for Probable 2018 Animation Flick
Nowhere does it say that movies adapted for film have t Shakespearean in metaphor and have layer upon layer of symbolism, some books are just simple and it is their simplicity that makes them so appealing. Children's books are also getting their day at the cinema and The Anubis Tapestry: Between Twilights has joined this elite group of books. Written and illustrated by Bruce Zick this book has been adapted for the silver screen. Anubis that is set to be released on March 23rd, 2018 is one such movie. Based on the illustrated novel The Anubis Tapestry the movie has been taken on by 20TH Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios who are responsible for the Ice age and Rio franchises. The movie was originally set to be released in 2016 but was pushed back to make space for the 5th installment in the Ice Age franchise.
The book follows 13 year old Chance who is living a normal and benign life in Oregon with his friend, playing baseball and being a child when his father pages him 'I need your help'. First issue, where did this child find a pager in 2006 which is when the book was written but maybe it's set in the past. His father, Dr. George Henry, is the curator at the Portland Museum of Eastern Antiquities and the first person he paged when he is in trouble is his 3 year old son. Anyway, Chance runs to rescue his father and finds that Sehti (He was a Pharaoh, his father was Ramses I and he was the father of Ramses II) Has possessed his father's body. Enlisting the help of his friend's (Other Children) he goes down into the underworld to save his father before he is permanently stuck there
The journey to the screen started way back in 2008 when Blue Sky acquired the rights to the book. The movie is likely to be animated but a whole lot of things can happen between now and 2008. The cast and crew list I not out yet but once we get more details we will be sure to update you.
