It seems like Marvel are now force feeding us material. At a recent Marvel Media event studio head Kevin Feige gave updates on upcoming Marvel movies, what to expect in the future, what is coming to the Marvel list of movies right up to who to expect. Much to the chagrin of all in attendance Cumberbatch was very visibly missing. Cumberbatch has been in talks to play Dr. Strange and Feige commented that he was absent because he was not confirmed. The movie is set to begin filming early 2015 so Marvel needs to quickly find someone to fill the post. Marvel announced that Avenger 3 will be divided into two movies while they confirmed the Captain America: Civil War movie that will see Iron Man and Captain America face off in direct competition with the anticipated Batman, Superman face off. This sees Marvel having universes cross over which is fairly rare except for the Avengers franchise.

News that was visibly missing from their agenda was Spiderman. Spiderman is not one of their more famous superheroes receiving his first movie in 2002. Before then he only featured in radio plays and TV shows. Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 were out between 2001 and 2007 with Tobey Maguire at the fore. Come 2012 and the Franchise got a reboot getting the name The Amazing Spiderman making an average of 725 million dollars. There is a third installment expected but Sony are still tight lipped about the plot and the release date.

At Marvel's fan event Feige was asked if rumors of Spiderman crossing over and joining The Avengers or at Iron Man and Captain America as he often does in the comics to which Feige replied that anything not officially on the agenda is unlikely to happen however Marvel's third phase is yet to be announced and there is still time before The Avengers movie is set to begin shooting so anything can happen.
