'LET GOD' Movie Wins "Best Film," "Best Director" and "Best Actress" at The Attic Film Festival 2014

The Attic Film Festival (TAFF) 2014 recently announced the 2014 TAFF Awards' winners including four awards for Word Entertainment's Let God. The faith-based film was named "Best Film" and "Best Feature" while the director, William Parker, won "Best Director" and lead actress, Jasmin Landreau, was honored for "Best Female Performance." In 2013, "Let God" also received the Breckenridge Film Festival's "Best Feature" and "Best Actress" honors, was an official selection at the Gideon Film Festival and earned the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for any age. "The point is well made that God isn't in the Bible alone or church alone but 'everywhere,'" said the Dove Foundation. "You will enjoy watching this one. It is a triumph in filmmaking. Don't miss it!"

"From the outset of 'Let God,' we wanted to create a film that would edify and inspire audiences of all stripe," said Parker. "It's a timeless story whose message of hope and survival resonates across religious labels and, at its core, is a story of humanity. We are so humbled by the reception and excited to see God working through film as audiences explore deeper meanings of spirituality and faith."

Let God follows  the story of young housewife, Amelia, who heads west with her husband during the 19th century gold rush and is left alone without resources in the harsh wilderness when her husband is killed in a savage attack. Battling winter, hunger and the unknown, Amelia must take life into her own hands as she struggles with a loss of faith and battles for her survival. Word Entertainment released the film on February 25 on DVD.

The Attic Film Festival showcases independent Christian-based films of faith, hope and redemption. The festival took place at the Alamo Drafthouse, Lakeline location and showcased 28 films including Let God. In addition, TAFF held a Q&A session with the films' cast and crew. The Attic Film Festival's Family Filmmaker Dinner and Awards, presenting the TAFF Awards, was held on April 3.
