Inspirational movie "Godspeed: The Race Across America" Releases May 22
Inspirational documentary movie GODSPEED - THE RACE ACROSS AMERICA is set to release in theaters nationwide on May 22. GODSPEED is the true story of two men, Jerry Schemmel, a Major League Baseball sports announcer and survivor of the United DC-10 crash of 1989 (see his story here featured on ESPN.) and Brad Cooper, co-founder / CEO of US Corporate Wellness/Catalyst Coaching Institute and 11-time Ironman finisher, as they fulfil their dreams to compete in the world's most grueling and demanding bicycle race.
The seven-day, 3,000-mile trek records the two endurance athletes across 12 states -- from the Pacific to theAtlantic Oceans.
The inspiration to overcome breathes life into GODSPEED as the first-time race duo compete in the world's most difficult cycling race. It chronicles their 24 hour-a-day journey through deserts, mountains and plains as the team overcomes physical exhaustion sleep deprivation and extreme mental anguish. Pedaling 168 hours non-stop, Schemmel and Cooper embark on the journey of a lifetime - a race that would provide an extreme test of physical endurance and dependence on faith, all for the greater purpose and personal calling to help raise more than $50,000 for the orphans of Haiti via Building Hope International.
GODSPEED is executive produced by 30-year Hollywood & TV veteran Brian Bird, whose credits include executive producer/head writer for Hallmark's original series, "When Calls the Heart"; co-executive producer/senior writer on the hit CBS series, "Touched By An Angel," and producer/writer for faith-based feature films such as "Captive," "The Case For Christ" and "The Ultimate Life."
