Civil Wars' Joy Williams is back with New Song "When Creation was Young"

Former half of folk duo Civil Wars Joy Williams is back with her Bibically-rich new single "When Creation was Young." The new song is the first release from the former Civil Wars vocalist's next solo album, Front Porch. The album is produced by The Milk Carton Kids' guitarist Kenneth Pattengale.
Williams will perform music from the forthcoming collection at a handful of shows through June 5 before her second child is born later this summer. Her next performance is May 14 in Decatur, Ga.
She writes: "I'm honored that Kenneth Pattengale of The Milk Carton Kids will be producing, and that Anthony da Costa (along with a few others) will be performing this new collection of songs with me."
Prior to her involvement with the Civil Wars, between 2001 and 2005, Joy Williams was a Christian recording artist. She was nominated for 11 Dove Awards, and the three records she released on Reunion cumulatively sold more than 250,000 albums. She was raised in a Christian home in Santa Cruz, California, where her parents worked in ministry. She attended Valley Christian High School in San Jose and graduated as the class valedictorian in 2001.
In addition to singing in church, Williams began writing faith-based pop songs while living in Santa Cruz. At 17, she was signed by Reunion Records, a subsidiary of Sony/BMG based in Brentwood, Tennessee. Williams moved to Nashville in 2001, in part to be closer to the label's headquarters.
