Batman Versus Superman Movie Update: Seth Green and Gary Oldman Skeptical about New Plot
For some time now we have thought that DC Comics was preparing to create a new movie which would unite all of the superheroes in one star studded flick that was set to include the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Superman as well as Batman himself. This was probably in response to the success that Marvels had with the Avengers. The film was set to premiere in 2015 but that is evidently not going to happen and the script was rewritten to be a Batman versus Superman movie that is set for 2016. The official title for the flick is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Zack Snyder and David Goyer who were the architects of the last major Superman movie: Man of Steel have made it their project. David Goyer wrote the original parts of the screenplay according to reports but academy award winning screenwriter Chris Terrio also lent a hand. The finished product should grace the theatres by May 16th of 2016.
Plot: the title Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice suggests that Batman and Superman will be enemies in the movie but the exact details as to how or why this is the case are still a mystery as both directors are keeping mum for now. The cast will include Henry Cavil who will be returning as the 'Man of Steel'. It will probably focus on him dealing with the destruction that was wrought after killing one of his people: General Zod. However, there are skeptics that do not believe the context is realistic. Actors Seth Green and Gary Oldman believe that Ben Affleck who is the main potential for the Dark Knight role is not the right choice. There argument is that Superman spent the last film battling super strength aliens that had no remorse and were calculating as all hell. It would need an equally intimidating adversary the likes of which he has never seen to scare Superman or at least seem like it could go either way.
