Prestonwood Pregnancy Center Celebrates 30 Years of "Educating Women and Sharing Christ’s Love in a Way that Empowers Them to Choose Life"
This month Prestonwood Pregnancy Center celebrated 30 years of providing women and their families in the Greater Dallas Fort Worth area with guidance, education, and medical services in the midst of unplanned pregnancies.
Since 1991, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (PPC) has provided confidential and compassionate assistance to women by providing a full-range of support services including pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer counseling, childbirth classes, medical referrals, and essential provisions. As a non-profit organization, PPC is supported by the local community and does not require insurance or fees.
Pastor Jack Graham and Prestonwood Baptist Church launched the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center in 1991 to reach women at their point of need during unplanned pregnancies. In the past 30 years, PPC has served over 100,000 clients and have seen 90,000 women choose life for their babies.
In 2018, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center introduced a mobile sonogram clinic, allowing them to serve areas with high abortion and high teen pregnancy rates. Adopting a second location in 2019 across the street from a Planned Parenthood office in Southwest Dallas allowed PPC to expand its reach. The organization has seen over 3,000 professions of faith in its 30 years of operation, over 400 of those professions occurring in 2020.
"We have words of life and words of blessing to bring. Scripture admonishes, 'Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.' (Galatians 6:9, NIV). At Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, we will never give up on loving the most vulnerable in our community. We will always be committed to educating women and sharing Christ's love in a way that empowers them to choose life," said Leanne Jamieson, Executive Director of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center. "The sonogram room is holy ground. I am proud to be a part of the work God is doing there and look to the future with expectant hope. I know we will continue to see the glory of God move in ways that we can't even imagine."
Prestonwood Pregnancy Center offices are open every weekday and Saturday. In most cases, same-day appointments are available. Services are free and confidential.
