Behaving Badly Premiering August 1 Features Selena Gomez in Raunchy Teenage Flick
Behaving badly is set from an adaptation of the book While I'm Dead... Feed The Dog which is a darkly comic look into the lives of sex and image obsessed teenagers. The director Tim Garrick, who is a first timer for the big screen tried as much to retain the gawdy and profane tone of the book while keeping an upbeat sense of high school pubescence which every teen series and movie have done since ever. According to the Hollywood Reporter, this is supposed to translate into a mess which is American Pie in one minute and a nice chick flick, the next.
Selena Gomez is set to grace the cast as the lead female. She is supposed to be the steamy day dream of the lead role played by Nat Wolff. Apparently Rick Stevens (Nat) is head over heels in love with Nina Pennington (Selena). However, she sees him as nothing else other than the slower than average kid in her Latin class. At the same time, the ex boyfriend, Kevin Carpenter is always on her case. However, Rick Steven's onscreen sister, Kristen Stevens who is played by actress, Ashley Rickards, teams up with the two teens, as well as Carpenter and the trio goes on a memorable rock and roll adventure.
Like any teen movie, Rick is obsessed with getting laid for the first time, being 17 and all, you would think it's like menopause and you either you it or lose it with the way virginity is described within the film. There are various scenes of vomiting and masturbation like any other teen movie nowadays and into the first 45 minutes; they will probably lose their shock value to an older audience. Then to spice things up with the plot, there is a $1000 wager between the guys that Rick will have sex with Nina within a week. The film is filled with raw teenage desire and emotion as well as male fantasy. To make things worse, it features bright colors with a lot of 80s era references and music; just enough to make the older generation nostalgic about those years. The premiere date for the movie is set for August 1st as summer is ending.
