Wong explains, "Perhaps repentance is less to do with our mistakes and more to do with turning to Christ, our Lord, our Forgiver, our Saviour. What a joy it is to follow Jesus! No matter where you are in life, if you need to repent of something (and we all do, all the time!), take it as an opportunity to rejoice as you turn towards Jesus."
The song has resonated with many listeners. Wong continues, "It's been so special to read and hear how people have shifted their perspective towards repentance through this song. Choosing to follow Jesus is always the best possible decision! If there's an area in your life that is keeping you from God, bring it to Him. He sees it all anyways, and understands the struggle.
That was the whole point of Jesus coming down to earth to live the human experience. Jesus freely invites us to bring us all of our burdens and trade them for a light one in Him. It's a simple decision that doesn't need to be inhibited by shame. Instead of focusing on your guilt or regrets, focus on the gift that Jesus offers, the joy of getting to follow Him OUT of death and INTO life."
