The Welcome Wagon Shares the Story Behind "Matthew 7:7"
The Welcome Wagon, which comprises of the Reverend Thomas Vito Aiuto and his wife Monique, releases their new single "Matthew 7:7. " The song is the second single released off the band's new album Esther set to release November 4th via Asthmatic Kitty Records.
The couple explain the significant of the song. "Today we're excited to release `Matthew 7:7,' from our upcoming album Esther! My grandmother Esther, whom the album is named after, saved wrapping paper and other things that I now use in my artwork --- making something new from them that no one has ever conceived. The painting that comprises the cover for our new single is my intuitive visual take on the song - and if you look closely at the single cover, you can see a scrap of Esther's wrapping paper in the left hand corner. Be sure to also listen for Esther's voice, which finds its way into the song."
The Welcome Wagon have also released a corresponding music video to the song, directed by Alex and Aaron Craig and filmed in Brooklyn, featuring the duo and friends in a church setting. "We're also excited to release the video for "Matthew 7:7" today, another chance we had to work with the Craig brothers of We Are Films, a very talented duo. It was a lovely day of shooting! They are so nice to work with and all the actors that joined were so kind and talented. Also on set was the lovely Sara Kerens, who captured these behind the scenes photos."
