Author Kelli Anderson Encourages Believers to Speak Like Jesus in Her Latest Book, "I Speak Jesus"
In her latest book, I Speak Jesus: New Words = New Life, author, pastor and internationally recognized teacher of God's Word, Kelli Anderson (a.k.a. Pastor Kelli) encourages believers to change their lives by changing their words.
With a new cover and a foreword by best-selling author, pastor, and motivational speaker Kimberly Jones (a.k.a. Real Talk Kim), the new hardback edition of I Speak Jesus empowers individuals to take their lives back and be forever free from depression, fear, anxiety, and more. I Speak Jesus is also available in paperback and Kindle eBook versions.
In I Speak Jesus, Pastor Kelli, who along with her husband Jason co-pastors The Living Word, a 7,000 member, multi-campus church based in Mesa, Arizona, teaches readers the power of words. Using Illustrations from the Bible and from her personal experience, she explains that what we say matters, and that many of the battles we face on a daily basis are won or lost simply by what we say.
"My hope is to share some simple truths that can transform your Christian life," states Pastor Kelli. "Jesus will redefine your experience and repaint your future when you say what He says. You can find freedom from mental anguish, worry, stress, illness, financial issues, relationship problems, and so much more when you learn to 'speak Jesus.'"
The biblical book of James states emphatically that the power of life and death are in the tongue, but many Christians do not know how to put this into practice.
"Are we complaining or are we speaking like Jesus did?" Pastor Kelli asks. "When Jesus spoke, His words sounded different. He didn't describe the storm; He spoke to it, 'Peace.' He didn't complain about the sickness; He spoke to the leper, 'Be clean!' Jesus never tells us to explain to everyone how big the mountain is. Instead, He tells us to speak to it. 'Get out of my way, mountain!'"
In I Speak Jesus, Pastor Kelli begins where it all began, with the biblical story of the creation of the world. "The words we speak carry power in them," she says. "It's exactly how God designed our words to work."
Pastor Kelli points out that God's words produce exactly what He says. "Jesus was and is the Word of God and He created the world. It began as He spoke. When God created the heavens and the earth, He spoke them into existence. God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."
In the same way, Pastor Kelli explains, when you speak, you are creating your world. Are you speaking things you want into existence? Are you speaking things you don't want into existence?
Pastor Kelli has seen the power of learning to "speak Jesus" in her own life and the lives of her family members. When her second child, Katy, was born, the baby let out a loud cry and then went completely silent. Quickly turning purple, she stopped breathing. Nurses surrounded Katy as they tried to resuscitate her, and Pastor Kelli's husband, Jason, asked one of them, "What's wrong with my baby?" "She's not breathing, sir," the nurse replied. Jason rushed to Pastor Kelli's side, took her hand, and declared, "In the name of Jesus, BREATHE!"
At that instant, Katy cried out loud! "Our baby girl was fine and alive," says Pastor Kelli. "God had performed a miracle right before our eyes!"
The next day, the pediatrician informed the couple that because of all the fluid that had gotten into Katy's lungs, she would have a life of breathing complications.
"As a little baby, I found that Katy did get sick quite often, and when she did, she was always having to use a breathing machine to break up all the mucus in her lungs," Pastor Kelli remembers. "Jason and I knew that our God did not have this plan for her life. We knew we needed to stand in faith and believe for our daughter to be healed. We began to speak and declare healing over her body. Each time she would need a breathing treatment, we would say, 'Katy, you have the strongest lungs. Your lungs will function properly and the way the Lord has designed them. Your body is healed in Jesus' name.' We spoke words of faith. We called things that were not as though they were. After five years of praying, believing and speaking, Katy was totally healed."
"In the five years of believing for healing for our daughter, we could have said, 'Where is God? Why is He doing this to us?' Or 'It's okay; we will survive this.' We could have complained, 'Why does this always happen?'" says Pastor Kelli. "When life takes a turn for the worst, we are trained by the world to accept it, to complain about it, and to describe it. Here's the truth-your world is absolutely being impacted by the words you speak. In fact, your current experience has a lot to do with what you say daily."
Pastor Kelli explains that If we want Word-of-God results, then it's time to start taking a hard look at what is coming out of our mouths. She says that Satan has worked hard to get us complaining and speaking death into our lives, but she has some good news.
"I want you to see how your words are creating your world, and how what you say can start or stop God from what He is trying to do," says Pastor Kelli. "Words can build you and others up, or tear you and others down. Speaking the Word of God can give you victory over the enemy, paint your future, and get the right kind of fruit growing in your life," Pastor Kelli concludes. "My desire is that many will experience transformation in their lives as they apply the Word of God to every situation, speaking the way Jesus would speak in their lives."
