Tekken 7 Release Date Confirmed! Game Director, Harada Gives Details of Next Installment while PS3, PS3, Xbox 360 And Wii-U are not Supported for Latest Version
Cyberland has officially stated that Tekken 7 will officially premiere for X box One as well as PS4 and PC. That is interesting because the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii-U are not being considered at the time. The producer for the game, Katsuhiro Harada revealed the first concrete details at the San Diego Comic Con which took place last week and this is where the release date for the game was announced for May 2015. He mentioned that they are still in the developing mode whereby they are formulating the basic game play systems and adding final polish to them.
He confirmed that the next game was being built on Unreal Engine 4. Apparently this makes them able to achieve the graphics and the visual quality which is expected on next generation platforms and even to surpass the expectations. Similarly, it is powerful and easy to use allowing them to any platform that they like. That's probably the reason why they singled out the Tekken 7 PC version rather than the PS3 and Xbox 360 because that was the lead platform during game development. As for the roles, it is not yet clear whether Kasumi Mishima will be a playable character for the next installment or simply just a boss.
As usual, Tekken 7 is going to have a very detailed background and the plot supposed to serve as a closure for the Mishima clan issues. The game is supposed to provide the answer as to why Heihachi is trying to kill his grandson. It is also going to investigate why he threw Kazuya off a cliff and other mysteries such as the devil gene. The trailer as seen at the San Diego Comic Con illustrated the violence that was in the Mishima clan and the curse of the devil gene. Kasumi is possibly murdered by her husband Heihachi just as she says that the devil gene passed from her to her son Kazuya. The trailer concludes with Kazuya confronting his father on the same volcano from which he was thrown in installment 2.
