Rising Star ABC recap: Top 13 are Thinned our to 7 as Austin, Joshua  and Jesse Make it Through to Next Round

On the new ABC's singing competition 'Rising Star', the competition has thinned out leaving the best singers voted by the American public. The show tonight marks the beginning of the quarter final round and only 13 are left. Of these only 7 will remain after the show to proceed to the semis. Because of technical difficulties it seems the recap will concentrate on the second hour of the two hour long show. Macy Kate went first singing 'Who Knew and she evidently did a great job as she got a yes vote from the three experts Ludacris, Kesha and Brad Paisley she managed to get at least 60 percent of the American vote not including the west coast which secured her for the second hour of the episode but she will not get through unless she gets a favorable vote from the West Coast.   

There is a new twist though where the experts vote only counted as 5 percent significance to the total tally. Much to Ludracris's dismay this meant that even with Kesha and Brad, their vote would mostly be that of guidance to the audience more than anything else. The first singer to get a 'no' vote was Maneepat Molloy. She did a good rendition of 'Stars' but she still got a no vote from Ludacris. She also got 68 percent of the American vote and 70 percent from the west coast which means that she will still be moving into the next episode. The singers that did not move into the next round include Alice J. Lee, Dana Williams, Megan Tibbits, Lisa Punch, and Sonnet Simmons.

Josh stated that the competitors that did not earn enough of the votes to be one of the top seven spots in the Quarter final round of 'Rising Star' will still be moving on but this is solely based on how they perform as per west coast votes. Stay tuned for the show next Sunday and see the competition get even fiercer.
