Worship band Newsong preparing new music video for the song “Who Loved You First"
Worship band Newsong (Russ Lee-Vocals, Guitar, Billy Goodwin-Vocals, Guitar, Eddie Carswell-songwriter, Vocals, Matt Butler-Vocals,Cello, Keyboard, Violin, Accordion, Rico Thomas-Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Jack Pumphrey-Drums, and Mark Clay-Bass) is readying their new music video for the song “Who Loved You First.”
The song is the 6th track on the Newsong’s latest album Swallow the Ocean which released beginning of this year.
Swallow the Ocean is Newsong’s 18th recording. Matt Butler shares, “We have spent our whole lives trying to be artists and musicians who describe God’s love. So the impetus behind the record is to use music for that purpose—to introduce God to people who don’t know Him.”
He continues, “If we were to fill the entire ocean with ink, and if we were to take pens and try to write the love of God across the sky, we would drain the entire ocean dry and still not even come close to touching the surface of God’s greatness and the bigness of His love; that has become the heartbeat of this album,”
Recently, the band shared photos from the videotaping featuring some of the band members playing drums, piano, cello, and guitar.
During their 30 years music ministry, Newsong sold nearly 1.5 million albums and had 20 number 1 radio singles.
The band still continues to affect thousands of people not only with their CDs but also with a well-known tour called Winter Jam Spectacular. The tour featured such artists as tobyMac, RED, Matthew West, Sidewalk Prophets, Third Day, Jeremy Camp, and of course Newsong, just to name a few.
