The Mentalist Season 7 Spoilers, Reveals and Review: Monica Baccarin to Return for the Seventh Installment as Erika Flynn
The release date for the seventh installment of the mentalist has not yet been provided, but filming is underway, but the closest estimate for the release places it sometime in the fall, probably September or October. When we left off, the first episode of the series was leaked to be Orange Blossom Ice Cream, but now it has come out courtesy of one of show writer, Jordan Harper that the first episode will be titled 'Nothing but Blue Skies' while, the aforementioned title will be the third episode of the seventh season. The first episode title has been assumed to focus on Lisbon and Jane's new blossoming romance and the fact that they finally have time to devote to their relationship.
However, this could be harder than it looks especially for Patrick Jane. In the past installment, he did had the luxury of work to become a distraction. The last season showed the climactic build up to Red John being eliminated. Now that the main villain is not there, there is a tension between him and agent Lisbon about what happens next.
Aside from that, there are going to be new additions to the cast including a new capable agent added to the team known as Michelle Vega, played by Josie Loren. She will be an expert in field craft and weapons but have a no-nonsense, by the book approach, which is going to conflict with the unconventional methods that Patrick Jane uses. There are also rumors of her stirring the pot and coming between Lisbon and Jane. The other additions to the cast include Monica Baccarin returning as Erika Flynn. She is definitely a threat as she was able to manipulate both of them when she traded the information she had for a pardon.
