Top Gun 2 Release Date, Spoilers and Release Date: Cruise to Reprise his Role as Maverick in the New Installment

This is the movie which has been in the works for more than 30 years going and the good news is that recent reports claim there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer was supposed to make the movie alongside director Tony Scott who made the original movie. The success of the original installment was due to his insight and his contribution to the second movie would have been instrumental however, since he committed suicide in 2012, the movie production stalled. However, it seems that Bruckheimer and the production team got their act together and are preparing to make the second installment a reality.

The release date and other details about the movie premiere or production schedule has not yet been given to the public however, there is new information about the plot for the upcoming movie. The movie will continue on the path of Maverick and Goose. Maverick will be a US Navy Pilot in an elite training school in San Diego and will be overseeing new projects. The movie will be based on the current warfare methods and technology. Drones and unnamed aircraft are part of the plot where the trend implies toward the direction that air force pilots are fast becoming obsolete. The maneuvers and split second decisions made during combat will be favored on the side of unmanned aircraft.

However, knowing Maverick and his escapades, he will be on the side proving that aircraft pilots are still essential to the air force and their operations. In the upcoming installment of the movie, Cruise will obviously reprise his role, though, the other members of the cast have not yet been confirmed to either reprise their roles or take new roles. The movie follows the same kind of plot similar to Stealth where an artificial intelligence fused to an unnamed high end craft.
