Downtown Abbey Season 5 Release Date, Rumors and Plot: Fifi Hart and Oliver Barker to Join the Cast in New Installment
Downtown Abbey is definitely one of the best things to come out of England. The show that follows the not- so idealistic lives of a noble English family and their scandalous servants has gathered quite the cult following in the U.S going as far as getting a mention in ABC's modern family. The only thing that is a little disturbing is the amount of time fans have to wait in between seasons with the only consolation the severely tantalizing Christmas specials that do nothing but fan the desire for the new season. The new season shall be coming to U.S television in January 2015.
Season four wasn't without its shockers and tragedies but we hope that all deaths have come to an end. With the issue of race already introduced in the series in season four there is really nothing new that can shock viewers but the writers have shown in previous seasons that they have a few cards up their sleeves. Of particular interest this season shall be Lady Edith's illegitimate child whom she has brought closer to home. Lady Edith has had quite an unfortunate storyline in previous seasons and we hope that the tone will be a happier one in season five. As for Lady Mary who learned a few tough life lessons in season three and four we can only hope that she shall finally find happiness.
Of new cast members we only know of Fifi Hart who acts as Sybbie and Zac and Oliver Barker shall be playing the role of George. No doubt the children have grown and we look forward to seeing how their new unique temperaments will fit in the house. There is no news of new servants although the house staff seems to be getting a little light but that is to be expected with the passage of time. We are keen to know how many more seasons we can get out of the show considering we all know English nobility is a now very rare breed. How much longer can the family survive? We hope these and other questions will be answered in season 5 coming in January 2015.
