Divergent: Insurgent Movie Release Date, Reveals, News, Rumors and Plot: Filming to Begin on May 27th Next Year
There's a novel out there set in the far future where teenagers have to go through some initiation test so that they can be fit into a section. No I have not misinterpreted The Hunger Games; I'm talking about the trilogy written by Veronica Roth. The series who's first novel was released in 2011 had is first movie released in early 2014. However Lionsgate decided to shoot the two films almost co currently so the Neil Burger who directed the first one was unavailable to direct Insurgent which is the second movie in the series coming out March 20th 2015. The project was passed over to Robert Schwentke director of R.I.P.D and The Time Traveler's Wife.
Our heroine Tris, (sounds a whole lot like Catniss, but okay) escapes with peter, Caleb, Four and Marcus to Amity where all factions may seek refuge if they keep the peace. If peace was kept then we would have no movie, so people arrive to seek out our heroine who manages to escape with her gang into a factionless safe zone. At this point it is clear that Tris is now an outlaw, she goes through various adventures with her gang. Traveling from section to section seeking out the truth about their little world in which they live in. Tris uncovers a plan to have their citizens rejoin the corrupt world outside the walls of the Chicago they live in now.
The cast remains fundamentally the same as is always the case with series. Shailene Woodley shall remain our beloved Tris Prior with Theo James staying on as four. Filming began on May 27th in Atlanta with the first trailer set to be released on November 21st with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Summit Entertainment has already announced that the last novel will be translated into a two part film with the first part being released on March 18th 2016 and the second part coming out on March 24th 2017.
