The Longest Ride Movie Release Date, Reveals, News and Spoilers: Release date of Flick Moved to Avoid Market Blunder Considering Similar Release of Fifty Shades of Grey
If you are a fan of Nicholas Sparks then this is certainly good news. The author's 17th romance novel was picked for film adaptation by 20th Century Fox for release on April 3rd 2015. The screenplay was adapted by Craig Bolotin who does not have as much experience as a production house would want a screenwriter to have. He does, however, have sufficient experience with his most notable work being Light it Up with Forest Whitaker and Rosario Dawson. Temple Hill and 20TH Century Fox chose George Tillman, Jr. who is known for works like Soul Food, the movie and the series, the three Barbershop movies and the movie Notorious.
The movie centers around an elderly widower who after being trapped in an isolated car crash becomes intertwined with that of a young college student and the woman he loves. The novel was inspired by the Black Mountain College. In the novel Ira and Ruth visit the college during their honeymoon and meet with students and artists. This spawns a relationship between them and the college that leads to the purchase of over a thousand paintings from the college. The movie fits into the romance genre but it is sure to be one that art lovers shall appreciate. The movie was set to be released during the Valentine's Day weekend but was moved to avoid a showdown with the much anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey.
The cast includes Britt Robertson who has appeared in Under The Dome, Delivery Man and The secret Circle; Scott Eastwood who is the son of world acclaimed actor, Clint Eastwood and who appeared in Gran Torino with his father; Alan Alda who was in The Aviator and M.A.S.H; Jack Huston who has worked in a number of movies and did notable work in American Hustle; Oona Chaplin; Melissa Benoist; Loita Davidovich; Gloria Reuben; Britt Edwards; Alina Lia and Amy Parrish.
