For people who have been to Disneyland the title of the movie may be a little confusing. The Disney movie was originally named 1952 but was changed to match the name of the themed land found at various Disney parks. Whether this will end up being a Pirates of the Caribbean situation is yet to be determined but it really wouldn't be a bad thing to give the various rides a little more back story. The movie set to be released on May 22nd of 2015 is directed and produced by Brad Bird. Mr. Bird has on his C.V noticeable works like The Fox and the Hound, The Iron Giant and Ratatouille.
The movie is about Frank and Casey who travel to a place in time only known as Tomorrow-land where their actions affect both the world and themselves. Here we go with the time travel again, just this year we watched Mr. Peabody and Sherman and their WABAC machine. It may feel like Disney may be running out of ideas but the movies great journey to the screen started way back in 2011. Disney has stayed quite tight lipped about the project which could only mean they believe it will be quite something. If anybody can rethink an idea it's the team at Disney so we all look forward to seeing what time travel means in Disney land.
The movie signed on George Clooney relatively early. Mr. Clooney shall be playing Frank Walker a grizzled inventor. Britt Robertson whom we know from Under the Dome shall be taking up the role of his time travelling partner Casey. Hugh Laurie shall be ditching his cane and sour disposition to play David Nix. Other names joining the casting list are Raffey Cassidy, Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw and Judy Greer. The movie was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Surrey and Disney World Florida. The movie will be the first 2-D movie shown in IMAX format since the 2002 re-release of The Lion King.
