Marry Me Release Date, Spoilers, Reveals, News and Review: New Show Coming to NBC, What to Expect
NBC is undoubtedly the home if not the origin of the sitcom. With the March-May exit of Community (which I still believe was a great mistake), Sean Saves the World and The Michael J Fox show they shall definitely be looking to beef up their line up with the funnies. Marry Me is premiering on October 14th is definitely one of their new gems coming to the line-up meant to redeem the television giant. The series is created and produced by David Caspe who was the creator, executive producer and director of the ABC sitcom Happy Endings so he is no stranger to the genre.
To get the plot lets go back to 2008 when Annie and Jake bonded over their mutual love for Nachos. Over the years they hopefully bonded over things other than Mexican food and our Hero Jake decides to propose to Annie. Unfortunately Jakes perfect proposal is messed up by Annie's speech about how Jake cannot commit and she wants some metalwork to seal the deal. So since the proposal is ruined and Annie, like all sane women, wants a proposal she can tell her grandchildren about. So they mutually agree to put off the proposal till it can be Disney-esq. The problem is; whenever you want things to go perfect they seldom do. The series follows the couple in their quest for a perfect proposal that will undoubtedly set them on the path to marital bliss.
David Caspe brings with him Cassey Wilson from Happy Endings whom we remember as Penny to take up the role Annie. Son in the end Penny got her man, in a roundabout way anyway. Cassey shall be acting opposite Ken Mario whom you may remember as the deaf tattoo artist in Reno 911 or Vincent Van Lowe in Veronica Mars, if the name doesn't ring a bell when you see you'll definitely remember him as 'that guy from that thing'. Other people joining the cast are Sarah Wright Olsen, Tim Meadows and John Gemberling.
