'The Book of Life' Release Date: 2014's Most Anticipated 3D Computer Animated Movie
The Book of Life, this year's highly anticipated computer animated movie, is scheduled for release in theaters on October 17, 2014.
It is produced by Reel FX Creative Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It features the voices of Channing Tatum, Christina Applegate, Diego Luna, and Zoe Saldana.
In 2007, it was Dream Works Animation that originally optioned this movie. However, the deal fell through due to creative differences within the movie's team. So on February 21,2012, Reel FX made an official announcement that they found a producer for the film - Guillermo del Toro.
The movie was originally titled "Day of the Dead." It was further announced on December 12, 2012 that the film will be released on October 10, 2014 and that 20th Century Fox will be distributing the film.
The lead character is Manolo (voiced by Diego Luna), a young man who is finding his way in life. He needs to decide if he will either follow his family's expectations of him or the desires of his heart. As he chooses which path to embark on, he will have to go on an incredible journey filled with adventures. This sojourn will take Manolo to three worlds filled with fantasy. It will require him to face his greatest fears.
The Book of Life is a great family movie since it encourages us to be thankful and to acknowledge the past while looking forward to a better future for our loved ones. It also has a soundtrack filled with pop music favorites that you will surely enjoy.
