Grimsby Movie Release Date, Reveals, News, Reviews and Plot: Director by Louis Leterrier from the Transporter to Work on Installment
If a movie came out of England that was not somehow connected to soccer we would all be quite astounded. Come July 31st 2015 Village Roadshow Pictures, Four by Two films and Columbia are bringing you a movie about a British Black-ops spy whose brother is a football hooligan. The movie is set in the 80's. The project is directed by Louis Leterrier who has worked on The Transporter, Unleashed, The incredible Hulk (2008), Clash of the Titans and most recently Now You See Me. As you can see from this list of movies he has almost no experience in comedy and this shall no doubt be challenge.
If you are from the UK or you have been to England then you know that there is an actual town that is called Grimsby. Normally any town would be extremely excited to have a whole movie named for it and invite the film makers to shoot on location. That is unless one of the producers and actors is Sacha Baron Cohen. If the name seems foreign then maybe you know him as Borat. The actor has spent a good chunk of his career acting out satirical characters that may rub people the wrong way. His portrayal of Kazakhstan caused the country much distress and attracted a law suit to boot.
Fast forward to this movie and the town's people of Grimsby you have the right to be mad. No doubt knowing how he planned to portray the town, filming was done in the town of Tilbury in Essex. Scenes in the movie portray the town strewn with litter, people urinating out of windows and children being offered beer. The depiction of the town has even attracted the attention of the North East Lincolnshire councilor who said he is disappointed at the depiction. Despite all the grumblings filming went right ahead and there is even a release date. Joining Sacha Baron on the cast list is Mark strong, Isla Fisher, Rebel Wilson, Penelope Cruz and Scott Adkins.
