Halo TV Series Season 1 Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Reviews, News and Spoilers: Series to Premiere by the Second Quarter of 2014
The Halo TV series follows the numerous top selling military science fiction first-person shooter video game franchise developed by Bungie and now developed by 343 Industries which is a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios. The TV series to be created was announced on May 21, 2013, during the launch of Microsoft's next generation console revel the Xbox One. Microsoft also confirmed that Steven Spielberg would be the Executive Producer of the soon to come TV series. The budget and production value was estimated to resemble those of HBO's Game of Thrones. Nancy Tellem, Microsoft president of entertainment and digital media, said they will take the time necessary to produce the show. The TV series is expected to premiere by the second quarter of 2014.
The idea of turning Halo into a TV series/movie first began in 2006 with Halo Chronicles; a completely new and original chapter in the Halo series form Peter Jackson the director of Lord of The Rings. Unfortunately the idea never saw the light of day. Microsoft decided to give another go to their past failed attempt of producing a TV series/movie. Microsoft even hired former CBS executive Nancy Tellem in 2012 to ensure things would be done right this time. Microsoft then immediately after began plans for original Xbox TV content earlier this year. The company detailed Microsoft's LA based studio for "pioneering the future of TV."
So far according to variety, the content plans for distribution of the series are still unknown. Word out is that Showtime has been negotiating with Microsoft to be given privileges of producing the TV series although we still don't know for sure what Microsoft has in mind although we will let you know as soon as we hear anything. The film is highly anticipated as fans remain fingers crossed with no more than hope for as great a success in TV as in gaming world.
