Lost: How This Television Show Emerged To Be A Worldwide Success During The "Primitive" Era
You really have to give props to the team behind the television show. Fans all over the world loved the show and still continue to love it up until today. When Lost first began, social media wasn't quite at its peak yet. Facebook just started and Twitter wasn't even born yet!
But even then, fans were very creative in discussing about their favorite show. They had a bunch of forums and fans sites. They even had their own wikipedia-Lostpedia. And they also had IRC channels where they would talk about the show. (IRC channels! Do you guys even remember that?)
The loyal fans also had to watch their show differently back then. Like live TV, DVDs, DVRs and get this, ABC even made the show available for free right after the pilot aired!
High definition televisions were just starting to increase in popularity when they first started too. It was basically eye candy for everyone who had HD televisions and wanted to watch the show in crisp and clear images while their favorite cast were out in Honolulu.
Although the show was about being stranded on a desert island, the cast had to visit a bunch of different countries for the back stories of all the characters. They had many different characters like Australians, Koreans, Brits and so much more! So having fans from all over the world did not come as a shock because the show pretty much did shoot in different countries.
After hearing about the show, the global fan base quickly grew and the pilot show even attracted over 18 million viewers!
It's utterly clear that Lost was a great show. As the show grew, social media grew and everything else. And fans became even more creative in voicing out their opinions.
It makes you appreciate to see the transition that the show had to made along with the developments that the world had to experience.
Can any new show this year really surpass the superb storyline quality of Lost?
