The Revenant Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Plot, Reviews and Updates: What to Expect in Upcoming Movie

A revenant is something between a ghost and a zombie; an animated corpse that comes to life to cause distress to the living, after which it returns to its grave. The movie set to be released on Christmas day 2015 is based on a novel by the same name written by Michael Punke and published in 2002. The movie is set to be directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu whom we may know from the 2006 movie Babel. The movie has no less than six directors among them Steve Golin and Arnon Milchan.

The book follows Hugh Glass a man who has a relatively okay time during the First World War until he is captured. His captors release him into the Northern part of North America where he joins a fur trapping expedition. While on the expedition he finds himself unfortunately mauled by a bear. His two companions John and Jim, thinking him dead leave him behind. Our hero somehow manages to heal in this time when lead and cocaine were in all major pills. He then decides to seek revenge on these two people who did the sensible thing in leaving him. He realizes that he may need a little help to execute this plan and turns to the Native Americans to teach him a thing or two. The plot is quite new and it should be an interesting movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Hugh Grass which may explain why he has been growing that beard that he has been seen around town with. Tom Hardy, Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleson are other names on the cast list. The movie is shot in Canada. Alejandro is not only directing, he is producing and writing the screenplay s well. New Regency Productions, RatPac Entertainment, Anonymous Content and 20^th Century Fox are all behind this project. We do not know if this will be the movie that will bring Mr. DiCaprio the ever elusive golden statue but we expect he will bring his special touch to it.
