"Assassin's Creed Unity": Explore the Plot, Game Play and Release Dates
Relive the French Revolution in Ubisoft's new game installment.
"Assassin's Creed Unity" is an upcoming historical action-adventure single-player game. It also serves as the seventh installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2013's "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." The game is also linked to 2014's "Assassin's Creed Rogue."
The game is set in Paris during the French Revolution and follows Arno Dorian, who joins the Assassins to investigate the assassination of his adoptive father on behalf of his sister Elisse de la Serre, a member of the Templar Order. The Templar Order, also known as the Order of the Templar, is a monastic corporate that seeks to build a perfect world. The game centers Dorian in his quest to unfold the real powers beyond the revolution.
Keeping the series' third-person open world journey, the game also introduces an improved combat and craft system. "Assassin's Creed Unity" also presents cooperative multiplayer mode to the Assassin's Creed series, which supports up to four players embark narrative-compelled missions and travel around the open-world map.
Players can enter taverns, which act as social centers in the game, where players can see if any friends are playing real-time. Players are also allowed to join friends' missions by approaching a request. Once the request is accepted, a player will be switched to their game. Players will be reset to the most recent checkpoint and then continue the journey from there. The player takes the role of Arno, individually in each of their games. Other players appear as randomly-generated assassins. Several missions as well as activities will be accessible for cooperative gaming. Players can also complete on their own, since there are some story missions set aside to be single player only.
With the combat for the game rebuilt, fencing served as an inspiration for the new game system.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, "Assassin's Creed Unity" will be exclusive for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The action-adventure game is fixed to be released in North America on Nov. 11, 2014, the same day as the last gen-title Assassin's Creed Rogue, on Nov. 13, 2014 in PAL regions, and on Dec. 4, 2014. Additionally, the game will receive a patch containing further updates to the game.
