When the credits rolled on the 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland people who had read the book were a little confused. To say it was based on the Lewis Carol book would be taking liberties with the English Language. The book had all of Carol's characters and some similar situations as were in the book and there all similarities ended. The movie seemed like a weird warped dream which is the look Disney was definitely looking for. It had that distinctive Burton touch and grossed over 1 billion dollars worldwide. Taking success like that into consideration it would sheer foolishness not to produce a sequel. Rumors of a sequel started running in late 2012 and in November 2013 Disney announced that looking through the looking glass would be coming to cinemas on May 26^th 2016.

The book starts with Alice playing with a black and white kitten in the lounge as she ponders what life is on the other side of the mirror. She reaches to touch the looking glass above the mantle and finds that she can step through. She finds that the world on the other side is the mirror image of her own. She meets the white queen who enrolls her as a white pawn. Alice sets out on a chess journey meeting tweedle dee And Twedle dum on the way along with the mad hatter and the hare. When she gets to the other side she is crowned queen and gets into a conversation with the red queen and the white queen whom make no sense at all, she grabs the white queen to shake her into making sense and the game perceives this as capturing the queen. Alice wakes up and finds herself in the lounge with the kittens. That's the way Carol wrote it, we have no idea the way Burton will direct it.

Where Tim Burton is Johnny Depp is not far behind. Depp shall be coming back as the Mad Hatter alongside Mia Wasikowska who shall also be reprising her role as Alice. Other familiar faces include Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham.
