'The Voice' Reveals and Updates: 'The Voice' Battle Rounds Begin with a Bang as Jean Kelley Steals the Spotlight even if She Lost the Battle with Sugar
It seems that the blind auditions are over and the Battle Rounds are finally here. The Voice kicked off this year's fierce competition where two singers from each team battle it out for a spot on the show. We have recap for the rounds right here. The contestants performed and gave it everything they had but three contestants were forced to leave the show for good. Three were allowed to stay on. Let us start with Team Adam where Stevie Nicks joined Adam in mentoring the singers for the first round. Both Chris Jamison and Jonathan Wyndham battled against each other singing Young Girls. Both of them gave quite a good performance though Adam picked Chris.
As for team Pharrell, Elyjuh Rene and Maiya Syakes were the first pair who went head to head. They were mentored by none other than the iconic Alicia Keys and sang one of her songs, If I Ain't Got You. By the time that both were finished, the audience was on their feet and Pharrell told them that they were making his job of choosing quite difficult. In the end he went with Elyjuh. The first two that went head to head on team Gwen were Sugar Joans and Jean Kelley. Both of them were apparently very excited with both Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale. They sang the Destiny's hit song, Survivor and Sugar was the one that came it on top. However, when Jean was about to make her goodbye speech, all of the judges pushed their buttons in order to steal her. Apparently she had made quite a bit of an impression. She decided to hop over to team Pharrell for the remainder of the season.
As for team Blake, Little Big Town helped him to mentor the first two contestants on the round, Craig Wayne Boyd and James David Carter. They sang Wave on Wave and the audience went crazy with their performance. In the end Blake chose to keep James. Without a doubt the moment when all of the judges wanted to steal Jean was probably the highlight and most emotional moment of the night.
