'Poppins/Mary Poppins' 2016 News: Is a Mary Poppins Reboot For Real?
Earlier this year, in March to be more specific, a poster claiming to be for the movie "Poppins/Mary Poppins 2016" came out. Before you get all excited, you should know right away that this was actually fan-made. However, this fact did nothing at all to ease the excitement that many "Mary Poppins" fans felt, especially with the fan-made poster claiming that the film is made by none other than Tim Burton.
According to a Doctor Disney report, a photo of the poster can be seen with the names "Helena Bonham Carter" and "Johnny Depp" written on the very top upper hand corners. The description "Winds in the East, There's a Mist Coming In, Like Something Brewing and About to Begin" follows the names. In the middle, in big bold font, is "Poppins" with the logo of Disney sitting on top of it. Just under the title is the description saying that the film is from Tim Burton.
According to Fairy Tale News Blog, the frenzy was even further sparked by Cartarsauce (@cartarsauce), a Twitter user who twitted a photo of the fan-made poster together with the description:
"What in the name of all things that are #PracticallyPerfect? A #marypoppins #timburton reboot?!?! Is this for real?"
The so called "Poppins/Mary Poppins 2016" trailer that was uploaded via YouTube did not help either. The video which was posted on YouTube, featured the same poster that was created by a fan, together with clips from the rumored movie.
Up until now though, there has been no confirmation yet as to whether there is truth behind the rumors that followed the photo of the poster, as well as, the tweet by Cartarsauce.
However, as per Variety, it seems that there is still hope; and that there is a possible movie adaptation of "Poppins/Mary Poppins" in which will be released.
If you have not been able to watch the Poppins/Mary Poppins 2016 trailer yet, that clip is still available in YouTube and whether it's true or not, reality or fantasy, you may want to take the time to check it out and find out what is possibly in store for you this coming summer of the year 2016.
