Attack on Titan Season 2: Reveals, Reviews and News: Wit Studios to Begin Season 2 after Completing Volume 15
There are many reports which have come out concerning the release of the second season of Attack on Titan. Most of the reports from media outlets slated the release of the Manga adapted animation for April 2015. Sites like Breathcast were quick to revise this saying the official air date is going to depend on the completion of Attack on Titan, volume 15 for the Manga. People have different perspectives on what is actually going on in Wit Studios. According to Latin Times, they have yet to make any formal announcements concerning the status of the second season of the animation. On the other hand, KpopStarz claims an insider from the publishers stated production has already begun for "Attack on Titan" Season 2." If that is true, then the release date for April 2015 is definitely a possibility.
The main thing is that "Attack on Titan" Volume 15" is going to be released at the end of this year. Wit Studious apparently claimed the development of Attack on Titan season 2 would not air until the prequel, volume 15 was completed. Following the timeline belief that volume 15 is going to be released in December, it would stand to reason that season 2 is going to air in August 2015. The only way that Season 2 would air in April is if the Studious abandoned their own protocol and started on season 2 of Attack on Titan, so that it could air earlier and probably just after volume 15 or concurrently.
According to iDigitalTimes, "there's a good reason why Wit Studios isn't working on the 'Attack on Titan' season 2 premiere just yet. Even after just one series, the show has covered a pretty substantial portion of the manga-a little more than half of it, in fact. The key words there are 'a little more.' It stands to reason that the second series will cover just about as much ground as the first series. And that means, if it came out right now, the anime would pass the material in the books."
