Life of Crime Movie DVD Release Date, Reveals, News and Rumors: DVD release on Tuesday October 28th 2014
The movie Life of Crime is based in the book The Switch by Elmore Leonard. Leonard is known for books like three ten to Yuma and Fire in the Hole both of which got treatments. Fire in the Hole translated to the Emmy Award winning series Justified. The movie has done its rounds on the festival circuit showing on closing night at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and opening at the Abu Dhabi Fil Festival the same year. It was largely unknown that this was a Leonardo book, a fact, only disclosed in the closing credits. The movie is directed by Daniel Schecter known for the 2012 movie supporting characters and the 2013 movie Spaz. Produced by The Gotham Group, Hyde Park Entertainment, Image Nation and Venture Forth, Life of Crime is distributed by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
Criminals are looking to make a quick dollar kidnap a rich man's wife (socialite) Mickey Dawson. However, her husband Frank has no intentions of paying the one million dollar ransom. As a matter of fact he was planning on divorcing her and carrying on his life with his mistress in the Bahamas. The criminals find this an unfortunate state of affairs and one of them follows the duo to the Bahamas in a bid to get some money from them. Frank on advisement from his mistress asks the criminal Odell to instead kill his wife for 100,000 dollars. Seeing this as a buck to be made, he plans on double crossing his partner and making his money. His partner suspects this to be the case and helps Mickey escape. After a series of events including Mickey informing her husband that she knows he has been building apartments with stolen materials the trio decide to kidnap his wife.
The plot may not be entirely original but the movie is arguably one of the best movies this year. With spectacular script writing from Daniel Schechter and above average acting from Jennifer Aniston who has shown us all that there is life after Friends the movie is a wonderful addition to ant DVD library. It is set for DVD release on Tuesday October 28th 2014.
