Watch Eric Church Perform "Like Jesus Does" with Cam Live
On the first night of Eric Church's two acoustic shows at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, he performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." On the second night, he repeated the religious theme with a rendition of his hit single "Like Jesus Does." Joining Church on the stage was up and coming country music star Cam.
"I'm gonna bring out some help up here on this next song. One of my favorite artists that's out right now," Church said before starting his 2013 single ... and midway through the tune, out walked Cam. Church smiled as she walked to center stage to join him for the chorus, and their beautiful duet echoed across the amphitheater's titular red rocks as the crowd sang along.
It was a magical evening, for both the audience and the up-and-coming singer: "I don't know how to give enough gratitude for this moment," Cam posted on her Instagram account. "Got to sing with my idol, @ericchurchmusic."
"Like Jesus Does" is a song written by Casey Beathard and Monty Criswell. The song is a mid-tempo ballad in which the narrator says that his lover accepts his personality and loves him "like Jesus does." It was released in January 2013 as the thirteenth single of his career, and the fifth from his album Chief. It is also his 8th consecutive solo single to be certified, at least, Gold by the RIAA.
