Daft Punk Documentary by Canal Plus Enacted Via BBC Worldwide to Come out Next Year
Daft Punk is back and they are making a documentary about themselves. Some of you only got to know them after they featured with Nile Rogers and Pharrel Williams in the song 'Get Lucky'. They are a French electronic music duo. They consist of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalte and are frequently featured wearing their usual futuristic helmets. They first hit the music scene in a big way during the French house music revolution that took place during the 90s. Since then they have joined with other musicians globally and made Grammy award winning music.
As such, the French subscription channel, Canal Plus, have commissioned BBC worldwide production France to make a one hour film about the duo. The film was introduced at the non-fiction conference Sunny Side and it is the first commission that BBC Worldwide has gotten from Canal Plus. As of the present progress, the film is slated to come out sometime in 2015. The documentary is supposed to depict the rise of their career ever since they started in the late eighties and the early to what they are today.
These guys have had a long history, needless to say and their anonymity uniforms just make them all the more enigmatic. It is quite interesting that the duo began by wearing black bags over their heads. The first version of their helmets had wigs featuring both straight and curled hair for both. They have made a career of futuristic electronic music that is just as goofy as they are. According to their own description and that of Rolling Stones, there is no other music that makes the balance between gravitas and goofiness as Daft Punk. They have evolved to elegance in their music through the years. Proof of that can be seen within their 20 year career in which they have sold more than 12 million albums and won 6 Grammy Awards
