ABC News Drinking Age 25 Hoax Fools Millions on Social Media and Causes Outrage from the Public!

Over the past few weeks there has been an post that has been doing rounds over the internet and gained just about 9 million hits, globally, reason being, the topic is quite controversial stating the legal drinking age has been increased from 21 to 25. According to the post, the current legal limit for drinking at 21 has caused some controversy because people have reported claiming it is a bit young for someone to be responsible enough to make the right decisions under the influence. Therefore, legislation at the Whitehouse apparently came to an agreement to have the legal age for drinking set at 25. The time of implementation according to the article was set for august 2^nd this year which would have been 2 days ago.

Of course, there was fire and brimstone brought up about the issue and the barbarians almost went to the gates of the government with pitch forks and hoods, but turns out it was just a cruel joke by Empire news. Honestly, when will people learn to read the fine print? The fake news was so successful in tricking people that it was the real deal because the site uses logos from authentic news sites which defer authenticity to itself, but in actual sense they do not report the actual news. The readers with the keen eyes noticed a disclaimer at the bottom stating "We are sorry, but you were tricked! It was just a joke...Don't worry, you are not the only one.

If you happen to click on the link, it would redirect you to an image of Leonardo DiCaprio playing Jay Gatsby raising a glass with a 'well played' expression to all that fell for the hoax. Empire news is also behind the misunderstanding that had people call and threaten Netflix with subscription withdrawal because of a post that claimed 'Orange is the new black', will not have a season 3. Interestingly enough, people were quick to believe the rumor even though all logic suggests the opposite. For one, the drinking age limit laws are also establishment on a state by state basis, not across the nation.
