Backstrom Reveals, Spoilers, Reviews and Plot: New Show coming to Fox what to expect, Cast and Plot
Fox have long been the favorite channel for the politically incorrect. So it's the last place you would expect a series based on a book. Unless that book was a Swedish book series and the show was a comedy drama series. The author was so confident in hi work that he decided to approach the broadcasting house himself. And he got the go ahead, writer Leif G.W. Peerson and executive producer Hart Hanson, of the BONES fame, got the go ahead to produce a 13-episode first season for spring 2015. Unlike most comedies this one shall be an hour long.
The show follows Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom, a man with no filter. His former partner and current police Chief Anna Cervantes brings him back from a five year ban from the Traffic Division. Why was he banned? Offensive behavior, I am very interested to find out what counts as offensive behavior in the police force. Anyway his stunning former partner is seemingly the only one who knows or rather believes that underneath all the roughness lays a sensitive man who watches cartoons and feeds doves in the park or something. Okay, I have embellished but apparently she knows he's a really good man underneath it all. Backstrom comes back out of banishment to head the Serious Crimes Unit. He brings to it his unique brad of crassness solving these crimes while he tries to work on himself; all this under the watchful eye of his captain.
The plot seems legit enough and it is up to the cast and crew to carry it off. The team of Hart Hanson, who has experiences success with Bones and Rainn Wilson, who was the man we all loved to hate in The Office is unique and is expected to deliver on this for Fox. Other people coming to the show are Inga Cadranel as his ex partner turned police chief; Page Kennedy as Frank Moto a member of the Special Crimes Unit and Genevieve Angelson as Detective Nicole Gravely Backstrom's second in command. From the looks of it Fox have a really good thing here and we can't wait to see if they can pull it off.
