Loomis Fargo Movie Release Date, Reveals, Reviews, Plot and Rumors: Jim Carey Originally Meant to be on Cast
In 1997 17.3 million dollars of cash was stolen from the vaults of Loomis Fargo and company in Charlotte, North Carolina. This would not usually be grounds for a comedy, but the activities that followed certainly were. The heist must be one that Wells Fargo wants to put firmly in their past but not only has a book come out but now Jared Hess has been entrusted by Relativity Media and Michaels-Goldwyn to direct the movie. Mr. Hess has work like Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre on his list of movies so he is no stranger to comedy.
The movie is based on the heist that was carried out in 1997. The main players were Ghantt an armored van driver for the company, Kelly Campbell an employee of the country and Chambers, Kelly's high school friend. Kelly and Ghantt strike up a friendship and Kelly introduces Ghantt to Chambers as someone who can help him rob the company. Turns out that Chambers and Campbell were planning to double cross Ghantt. On the evening of October 4th 1997 Ghantt loaded blocks of cash onto the armored van drove to a pre arranged location and split the money with other people in the gang. As arranged Ghantt carried 50,000 dollars into Mexico to hide out till things cooled down. Ghantt became a suspect the very next morning and Chambers and Campbell became suspects due to their extravagant purchases. These included moving to lavish houses and buying a BMW Z3. These and other irresponsible and openly stupid fiscal decisions led to their ultimate arrest.
Jim Carey was originally meant to be on the cast but was replaced by Zach Galifianakis after he dropped out. Another comedy legend, Owen Wilson shall be making an appearance alongside Ken Marino and Jason Sudeikis. Kirsten Wilg, Kate McKinnon and Lesley Jones shall also be joining the cast along with Jon Daly. Filming began in July 7th in Hazelwood, North Carolina. The mvie is set to be in theatres on August 14th of 2015.
