Triple Nine Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Review and Plot Updates: Corrupt Cops Blackmail and Heist Plot
It seems like nowadays there are no Heist movies. However in 2015 there are two of note coming our way. The first one being the comedy Loomis Fargo and then the Open Road Films project Triple Nine. The movie set to be released on September 11th of 2015 has been entrusted to John Hillcoat to direct. The Australian director is known for the movie The Road and The proposition which won four Australian Film Institute Awards.
Triple nine is about a group of corrupt policemen who are blackmailed into pulling off a heist. To create a much needed diversion they decide to kill a rookie officer calling in the code 999 which stands for officer down. The plot is not wildly original and in all reality there will be need for very good acting and above average directing. The action scenes will also have to be well executed. That is not to say that it will be a bad movie but I am skeptic as to its Oscar-worthiness.
The movie has impressive names on the cast lit which raise an eyebrow and show us that maybe there is more here than meets the eye. Kate Winslet who has seemingly being away from our screens for way too long is one of the names that stand out. Chiwetel Ejiofor whom we all still remember form 12 years a slave is another name of note on the list add to that Aaron Paul who shall forever be Jessie Pinkman in Breaking Bad and Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead and we are beginning to think that maybe there's something on that script that's attracting these people. Gal Gadot who is DC's new Wonder Woman is also on the cast list alongside veteran actor Woody Harrelson whom you remember as Haymich from The Hunger Games. The cast list alone is reason enough to go check this movie out. The pedigree and abilities represented on there are above average leading us all to wonder what is really going on in this movie.
