In the Heart of the Sea Movie, Review, News, Plot and Release Date: Chris Hemsworth to Star in Cannibalistic Drama

Remember how much you loved Moby Dick in high school and you couldn't put the book down no matter what? Believe it or not somebody else wrote a book about a captain and a whale. Nathaniel Philbrick wrote a book In the Heart of the sea that is kind of like a mash up between Lord of the Flies and Moby Dick. The movie coming out on March 15^th 2015 is directed by Ron Howard. Mr. Howard has directed a number of famous movies including Apollo 13, EDtv, A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code and Cinderella Man. Judging by his resume alone we can see why Warner Brother's and Village Roadshow think he is the right man for the job.

The movie is set in 1820 and centered on a whale ship and its crew. While out on one of their expeditions the ship is struck by a bull sperm whale leaving the crew shipwrecked for 90 days. The crew sails for South America and is forced to become cannibalistic. The movie is classed under drama but whenever cannibalism is brought up then we have clearly crossed over to Horror.

The movie is produced by Brian Grazer, Edward Zwick, Marshall Hersovitz, Joe Roth and Paula Weinstin. This capable team has credits in films like Legends of the Fall, Apollo 13, I am Sam and The Perfect Storm between them. The screenplay has been worked on by Charles Leavitt, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Peter Morgan. The most exciting thing about the movie is that Chris Hemsworth shall be appearing and not in a long cape and with a hammer in tow. Hemsworth shall be acting as first mate Owen Chase. Benjamin Walker is acting as Captain George Pollard, Jr; Cillian Murphy is taking up the role of second mate Mather Joy and Tom Hollard shall be cabin boy Thomas Nickerson. The movie was shot in London and the Canary Islands.
