Asus EeeBook X205, Available on November 3, Ready for Pre-Order at $199, Suited for Users with Simple & Basic Tasks – Like Surfing 12 Hours Online Asus EeeBook X205 came out during the IFA event in September this year, and it’s about to hit the market on November 3. The portable device only costs $199, with features good enough for the price. The new X205 comes with a quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail-T Z3735 CPU, running on Windows 8.1. It comes with a standard 32GB of eMMC storage and 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It also comes with a two-year 115GB Microsoft OneDrive storage and 500GB Asus WebStorage space. The EeeBook X205 also comes with an 11.6-inch display, with a 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. The device measures 0.7-inch in width, and weighs 2.2 lbs. The device also comes with two ports for USB 2.0, an HDMI port, and a MicroSD card slot (up to 64GB storage). It also comes with an 802.11 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. The X205 lasts up to 12 hours of online surfing. Sure, there are many downsides to owning this netbook. The 2GB RAM is hardly going to make your multitasking faster and easier, and the screen resolution is nothing compared to many laptops out today, but the price already suggests that this is targeted towards customers who are fine with the simplistic features. Not all users are after the high-end specs and features, as they sometimes need the portable device for some documenting and net surfing. So, if you think this device is for you, go ahead and pre-order the Asus EeeBook X205 laptop at Amazon (with free shipping).

A Better “Selfie” Smartphone: HTC Desire EYE or the Nokia Lumia 735? Comparing “Selfie” Features of the Two Devices

A Better “Selfie” Smartphone: HTC Desire EYE or the Nokia Lumia 735? Comparing “Selfie” Features of the Two Devices Among the smartphones recently launched this year, two of them stand out as being “selfie-centric”: Nokia Lumia 735 and HTC’s Desire Eye. If you’re an avid “selfie” taker, which device will you choose? We are here to compare the two “selfie” smartphones to help you. Given the fact that the two devices come with a totally different price range (Lumia 735 costs almost only half the price of Desire Eye), it’s natural to expect the expensive one to have more features than the affordable one. So, we will primarily compare the “selfie” cameras of the two, as we’re talking about how one is a better “selfie” camera than the other. Yes, the Lumia comes with a 5-megapixel camera, and that was already amazing enough, since it’s a lot higher than the other front cameras we’ve known so far, but unfortunately, the HTC comes with a 13-megapixel front camera, plus a dual-LED flash. The question, however, is do you want that much a resolution for your close-ups? Every detail of your “selfies” is visible. The 5-megapixel just gives enough detail, while being better than the previous front cameras of other smartphones. Besides, the Lumia version comes with a Selfie app, which will allow you to edit your images before you post them online. You can rotate it, choose its ratio, change its filter, and so on. Lumia will also allow you to readily make “selfie” enhancements, and it’s a lot easier than using photo editors like Photoshop. Once you’re done, you can instantly share your “selfies” with Facebook, Twitter, OneNote, Messaging or E-mail. You can even share your photo to other compatible devices via Lumia’s NFC feature.

  • Microsoft is Now Removing “Nokia”
Microsoft is Now Removing “Nokia”, Rebranding for Simpler Branding and Clearer Entities, Lumia 730 and 830 – the Last “Nokia” Devices of Microsoft

Microsoft is Now Removing “Nokia”, Rebranding for Simpler Branding and Clearer Entities, Lumia 730 and 830 – the Last “Nokia” Devices of Microsoft As also reported in one of the earlier articles, the rumor surrounding Microsoft removing the “Nokia” name is now officially confirmed. The earlier article stated that Microsoft may start removing the name “Nokia” from their newer Lumia devices, as Nokia was already bought by Microsoft for $7 billion in April this year. Now, the Facebook account of Nokia France will soon be called “Microsoft Lumia”, as announced through their recent post on the said Facebook page. The post was also linked to Nokia France’s Twitter account, and Microsoft already confirmed that the name change will later follow in other countries. Yet, the Nokia name was still used in the recently launched devices, such as the Lumia 730 and 830. These devices still have the name “Nokia” on their front bezel, and these might be the last ones to bring the “Nokia” name. The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, since aside from the obvious buyout, the name “Nokia” has been slowly removed from Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store apps in the recent months, including Treasure Tag and App Social. Microsoft has also been redirecting some of the Nokia page viewers to Microsoft.com. Also, Microsoft has been trying to simplify their branding strategy, such as the naming of “Windows Phone” to simply “Windows” in their advertising. Removing the “Nokia” name is likely a part of their branding strategy. Also, since Nokia’s mapping, networking and licensing businesses will continue to operate independently, the rebranding will also clear up some confusion relative to Nokia and Microsoft’s separate entities.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review, Improved Specs and Features of the New Note Phablet, including Qualcomm’s Fastest Snapdragon 805 Chipset

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review, Improved Specs and Features of the New Note Phablet, including Qualcomm’s Fastest Snapdragon 805 Chipset So far, there is no doubt that the Galaxy Note 4 has been getting great reviews, as it has all the features that any demanding phablet user could ask for. One if its latest features include the ever-efficient Snapdragon 805 chipset from Qualcomm. The Note 4 has a 5.7-inch quad-HD display, and it’s surely looking sharp, as it also comes with a 2560 x 1440 pixel panel and Super AMOLED display. Note 4 also comes with a better-looking metal frame. The metal frame comes in smooth aluminum and the edges are very polished. The Note 4 comes also in charcoal black and frost white, while it still has the leather-like plastic back of the previous Note 3. The newer chipset also means better multitasking experience, and the S Pen feature is also improved in this new Note 4. It also comes with a better 16-megapixel camera, as the images are more detailed. The fingerprint reader is also more reliable than the Galaxy S5 device. The Galaxy Note 4 offers a louder sound, as through its new back speaker. Yet, the sound may be too harsh and messy. Yet, the Note 4 makes up in other features, including its better-efficient multitasking feature; the Multi Window is so much easier to use than its previous Note 3. You can now run two apps side by side, as you can also drag and drop contents between them. The Note 4 measures 6.04 x 3.09 x 0.33 inches, and weighs 6.2 ounces. Sadly, the new Note is thicker and heavier than the previous Note 3. You can now get the Note 4 for $300 with a 2-year contract on AT&T.

Four Samsung Devices are Now Approved by U.S. National Security Agency, Boosting Samsung’s Appeal Further

Four Samsung Devices are Now Approved by U.S. National Security Agency, Boosting Samsung’s Appeal Further Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, and Note 10.1 of 2014 are now under the program of NSA and Central Security Service. Just recently, the US National Security Agency approved these mobile devices. This means that government officials can now carry these, with important classified information. This surely boosts the company’s appeal in the competitive market today. What it means to be approved in such a way is that the devices have met the agency’s security standards, as The Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program only lists such devices. Other than the Galaxy devices listed above, the Boeing Black smartphone is also under the said program. The Boeing Black was particularly designed for Boeing’s security and defense applications. The Blackberry is also usually an option for the government market, as it is trusted in data security, but now the Samsung’s Knox platform is going to provide an alternative for the markets such as government and enterprise. Samsung mentioned earlier this year that the company has been seeking security certifications from governments all over the world, using the devices under the Knox platform. The Knox is also Android-based, and its primary aim is to enhance security of the open-source Android today. Knox-based devices allow users to switch between a personal data space and Knox-protected Workspace. Samsung said just recently that the company is the only one with devices listed in both the CSfC and DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency).

Samsung Launches the Fastest Android Smartphone to Date – the Galaxy S5 Plus, What’s New? Here are the Specs and Features of the Newly Upgraded Galaxy S5

Samsung Launches the Fastest Android Smartphone to Date – the Galaxy S5 Plus, What’s New? Here are the Specs and Features of the Newly Upgraded Galaxy S5 The popular Samsung Galaxy S5 now comes in a better and upgraded version: Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus. It now comes with a faster chipset – Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 chip, and it’s Qualcom’s fastest and most efficient chipset to date. Given the fact that Samsung just launched the Galaxy S5 LTE-A in Korea, the company is back with another great version of the top-notch Galaxy S5 smartphone. S5 Plus still looks a lot like the previous S5, but it’s the fastest Android-run smartphone to date. It works on the same hardware as the Note 4 and the new Nexus 6 phone tablets. The difference between the previous chipset and the latest chipset is that the S5 Plus now comes with a better memory bandwidth, which increased by about 70% than the previous S5. Multitasking is faster than ever. The Plus also comes with an upgraded GPU, which is faster and more power efficient. It also comes with a better 4G feature. The Plus can now support up to 300Mbps of downloads as opposed to the 150Mbps of previous S5. Both S5 and S5 Plus have upload rates of 50Mbps. Other than the ones mentioned, the S5 Plus comes with similar specs and features of the previous S5, including the 2GB RAM, 4K Ultra HD video recording, 16GB internal storage, and the 2,800mAh battery. The S5 Plus still comes with the same 16-megapixel camera, 5.1-inch display (1920 x 1080 pixels), and MicroSD slot. It also still measures 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm, and weighs 145 grams. The S5 Plus is still water resistant. Unfortunately, the S5 Plus comes with a lower 2.5GHz than the 2.7GHz of Note 4 and Nexus 6. Also, unlike the LTE-A model of S5 in Korea, the S5 Plus didn’t come with the 2560 x 1440 pixel (2k) resolution and 3GB RAM, which are also features of the Note 4.

What’s New with GoPro Hero 4 Silver? Comparing New Silver Hero 4 with Previous Hero 3 Models

What’s New with GoPro Hero 4 Silver? Comparing New Silver Hero 4 with Previous Hero 3 Models The silver GoPro Hero 4 edition is like the GoPro Hero 3 black edition, but the new silver edition is still a powerful one, as it comes with an LCD touchscreen feature. The Hero 3 was regarded as last year’s top end gadget. Let’s compare the ne Hero 4 to the previous Hero 3 device. The design of GoPro Hero 4 silver looks very similar to the previous Hero 3 silver edition. Except, Hero 4 silver comes with a 1.5-inch touch screen on its back. This allows users to playback instantly without transferring the footage to another device. Hero 4 silver uses intuitive swiping so it’s pretty easy to use. Hero 4 silver also performs a lot like its previous Hero 3 black. Yet, the sensor for Hero 4 upgraded, which is also the case with the Hero 4 black version. Hero 4 silver’s highest recording resolution is 4K at 15 fps, 2.7k at 30fps, and 1440p at 48fps. Hero 4 silver has a smaller battery, and the battery is now placed at the bottom of the camera. The battery life hasn’t improved, but this is pretty much you get from its competitors too. Hero 4 allows less than 2 hours of video recording, given that the LCD is turned off whenever it’s not in use. This saves the battery life. The camera’s stabilization feature also needs improvement. The same can be said about Hero 4’s zooming quality and night mode. Yet, Hero 4 silver surely takes images with top-notch quality. This action camera might even be the best of its kind in the market today.

  • icloud
Apple on Alert Following China Hack on iCloud

Apple on Alert Following China Hack on iCloud The Chinese authorities are now staging a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack on Apple’s iCloud according to the independent Chinese censorship-monitoring tech site Great Fire. However, unlike the recent attack on Google, this attack is nationwide and coincides with the launch in China of the newest iPhone. While the attacks on Google and Yahoo enabled the authorities to snoop on what information Chinese were accessing on those two platforms, Great Fire says the Apple attack is different. This is clearly a malicious attack on Apple in an effort to gain access to usernames and passwords and consequently all data stored on iCloud such as iMessages, photos, contacts, and other personal data. This may also somehow be related again to images and videos of the Hong Kong protests being shared on the mainland, the site adds. Michael Sutton, vice president for threat research at Zscaler, in a report by the New York Times, explains the how and why for the attack. Said he: “All signs point to the Chinese government’s involvement. Evidence suggests this attack originated in the core backbone of the Chinese Internet and would be hard to pull off if it was not done by a central authority like the Chinese government. The Chinese government could no longer sniff traffic, so they intercepted that traffic between the browser and the iCloud server. As more sites move to encryption by default — which prevents the censorship authorities from selectively blocking access to content — the Chinese authorities will grow increasingly frustrated with their ability to censor that content. In some ways their hands are being forced. They can attempt these man-in-the-middle attacks or choose to outright block access to these sites. The more sites they block, the more they cut off the Chinese populace from the global Internet.” China of course denies backing the iCloud hacking according to BBC. Either way, to avoid man-in-the-middle type attacks like those now being staged in China, Apple has just now released an updated ‘iCloud security support document’ with detailed instructions on how to verify whether users are connected to the authentic iCloud website by checking the contents of the digital certificate that display on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox web browsers. In the release of the security update, Apple said it “is deeply committed to protecting our customers’ privacy and security. We’re aware of intermittent organized network attacks using insecure certificates to obtain user information, and we take this very seriously. These attacks don't compromise iCloud servers, and they don't impact iCloud sign in on iOS devices or Macs running OS X Yosemite using the Safari browser.”

Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Will Have Entire Cast Plus Two Newcomers Returning; Tamra Wins In Children Custody Battle With Ex-Husband Simon

Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Will Have Entire Cast Plus Two Newcomers Returning; Tamra Wins In Children Custody Battle With Ex-Husband Simon The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 premiere has yet to be scheduled but speculations already abound as to who will make it to the final Real Housewives of Season 10 cast. The previous season brought to the TV spotlight the lives of veteran cast members Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson and Heather Dubrow along with those of newcomers Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek, plus new friend of the housewives Danielle Gregorio. Rumors have it that Tamra has been fired, Heather and her husband Terry will quit and Lizzie will not be coming back. However, it now seems more likely that the entire cast will be asked to return to the show next season after all. Gunvalson, Judge, Dubrow, Beador, and Rovsek would all be returning as full-time housewives for the tenth season, which is scheduled to film beginning this month. According to the usually reliable Rumor Fix, an insider revealed that “at the current moment, the entire cast is being asked back.” There will also be some additions to the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 cast. Rumor Fix’s insider source said: “There will be a new girl and a new friend. They are looking at athletes wives. There is one who plays professional baseball. There have also been talks of Kobe Bryant’s wife being scoped out.” However, Vanessa Bryant herself has shot down the rumors according to an entry in the wikipedia. In related news, Tamra just won a court ruling awarding her the right to have continued 50/50 custody with ex-husband Simon Barney over their two youngest children - Spencer, 14, and Sophia, 8. In a talk with Radar Online, Simon said: “I hope that by bringing this court action it will force her to, hopefully, become a better mother. If that happens, everyone wins … I would have been remiss if I did not fight to protect our children.” There will be a separate custody hearing by December regarding 15-year-old daughter Sidney who left Tamra and has been living with her father full-time for the last year. Still in related news, former Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi during Tuesday’s edition of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live show, also hosted by Andy Cohen, got to trash talk about her former fellow housewife according to EOnline. Said she: “The thing is, Tamra Barney has lost all credibility with everybody, including the viewers. She's the biggest lying, manipulating, conniving, narcissistic sociopath. And I say she's a sociopath because sociopaths don't even realize that they do any wrong. All they do is blame everyone else for their mistakes, and that's all she continues to do. And the viewers saw it this last season.” During the show, Tamra posted a comment via Instagram that says: “Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent-free in your head."

  • Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7
Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7: Newcomer Claudia Jordan Head Butts With Veteran Housewives NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7: Newcomer Claudia Jordan Head Butts With Veteran Housewives NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks Claudia Jordan was originally slated to be a “B Character” or a secondary cast member on the show, according to MailOnline, but an on-camera intense cat-fight with the Queen Bee herself, NeNe Leakes, apparently changed that and thrust the former ‘Deal or No Deal’ model as a full-time regular housewife in the Bravo hit reality TV series. During the location shooting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jordan managed to snag an argument with Leakes. Thus provoked, NeNe told Claudia she has a reputation for sleeping with lots of men in Hollywood and for wearing cheap clothes. She also called Claudia a "pretender" who was desperately trying to get a job on the show and living living in Kenya's shadow. Given the opening she seemed to have been fishing for all along, Jordan lashed back at NeNe, telling her “that she was just a few years from being off the stripper pole for good and that if she kept spending all her money on plastic surgery, she would have to brush up on her pole dancing routine... [and] that maybe she should’ve brought back some of her old stripper moves while doing Dancing with the Stars. Then maybe she would have won,” according to the MailOnline gossip news. Ever since that exchange, Leakes and Jordan have been bitter enemies. NeNe Leakes is not the only veteran Atlanta housewife who’s been kept up on her toes by the feisty newcomer. Phaedra Parks during the word association game segment of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” called Claudia “Satan Jr.” She was given a chance to answer back when she was interviewed at “The Ricky Smiley Morning Show.” There Jordan called out to Phaedra whose husband Apollo was recently jailed for fraud and identity theft. Said Claudia: “First of all, why are you calling anyone Satan? I'm actually shocked that she feels this way. Women are natural detectives by nature - if your husband doesn't have a job and all of a sudden he's bringing in millions of dollars, you mean to tell me you don't see a red flag when has this in his past? You're a lawyer; that is your job to be up on game. I do not believe this for a second.” Jordan also took to Twitter, tweeting: “I have no respect for someone who smiles in my face then pops off and feels FROGGY a thousand miles away. Is that what we doing now?” Real Housewives of Atlanta City Season 7 start is on November 9 at 8 PM says Bravo TV. Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, NeNe Leakes, Phaedra Parks, and Kenya Moore will be back to comprise the regular Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 cast. Porsha Stewart, who has been a regular for the past two seasons, will however return demoted to a recurring guest role in the Bravo reality TV show. There will also be two newcomers to the Real Housewives of Atlanta City Season 7. The now controversial Jordan, a TV and radio personality, will come on board as a full-time ‘Housewife’ while singer and actress Demetria McKinney will be a recurring guest star on the program according to US Weekly. The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s sixth season was the highest rated season across all of Bravo's key demographics, including an average 2 million viewers in the advertiser-coveted Adults 18-49 demo. Real Housewives of Atlanta averaged 3.5 million viewers per episode last season according to The Wrap. No wonder that the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 salaries are high. According to OK Magazine, NeNe Leakes is the highest paid among all of the Bravo “Housewives” franchise. For last season, NeNe reportedly signed a $1 million plus bonuses deal with the network. She is followed by Teresa Giudice of the Real Housewives of New Jersey at $650,000. For the Real Housewives of Atlanta salaries, the next highest earner after NeNe is Kandi Burrus at $450,000, followed by Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks at $300,000 each.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5: Soap Star Eileen Davidson Bringing Drama To Reality TV Show

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5: Soap Star Eileen Davidson Bringing Drama To Reality TV Show “No one knows drama better than daytime soap stars,” says Music Times, “They are trained to bring the heat with a simple, lingering dirty look and apparently Eileen Davidson has been doing just that while filming the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” And of course, Eileen is no ordinary soap star. She was this year’s winner of the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Whether or not it was real or staged, Eileen got herself into a heated scene with Lisa Rinna, another veteran daytime soap star, at a cocktail party at fellow Beverly Hills Housewife Kyle Richards’ house according to Radar Online because of “dirty looks.” According to Radar Online, the heated exchange between the two soap stars started when Rinna confronted Davidson in front of the cast, Rinna reportedly said, “I don’t know what you have against me, but I’m tired of your evil eye dirty looks. You need to stop it!” Eileen reportedly answered back, “Who do you think you are? I barely know you!” Then Eileen packed up and stormed right out of the party. The tension between the two has been building since filming began, a source reportedly revealed to Radar Online, adding that “whenever they would go to an event they would give each other looks.” Kyle Richards confirmed to Reality Tea that the confrontation did took place at her house. She said, “The stories aren’t accurate, but something did happen. The two new cast members are a very interesting combination!” Eileen has apparently also been trying to stir things up with Kyle’s sister Kim. According to an earlier Radar Online gossip, “Whenever Kim and Eileen film together, there is always a lot of eye rolling on the part of the soap star. Eileen complains that Kim is a total airhead and doesn’t understand why she is even on the show. In Eileen’s opinion, Kim is a total bore, and just rides on her sister, Kyle’s coattails, ”However, Kim refused to be provoked, because “She has been through it all and doesn’t care what Eileen has to think or say about her. This is just a job for her and doesn’t take it seriously at all,” a source reportedly told the gossip site. But of course, Eileen can’t be faulted for trying. After all, the 55-year-old soap actress is getting paid a record $750,000 to bring in the viewers and raise the ratings for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills show.

Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 Officially Welcomes Bethenny Frankel Back

Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 Officially Welcomes Bethenny Frankel Back Bravo officially confirms that Bethenny Frankel will be returning to the Real Housewives of New York City for Season 7. Frankel, an original member of the show who was a cast regular from Season 1 to Season 3, left the franchise after her televised cat-fight with then fellow New York City Housewives Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon, who have both also exited from the show. The 43-year-old Bethenny, aside from being a TV personality, is an author of five books and an entrepreneur famous for her Skinnygirl brand. The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7, once it airs, will have host Andy Cohen back at the show’s reigns as executive producer. Regarding Frankel’s return, Cohen said, “Bethenny is one of the most popular Housewives in the history of the franchise, and I couldn't be more excited she is coming home to Bravo!” Bethenny in her statement to the press said: “I'm genuinely excited, with a side of slightly nervous, for my return to The Real Housewives of New York City. Bravo has always been the place on television where I have the freedom to be unfiltered, honest and inappropriate, with an audience who has been with me from the beginning. I can't wait to see what this next chapter brings for all of us. Watch what happens!” In a talk with US Weekly, Bethenny said her story lines this upcoming season may look different than it did when she was last seen in the reality TV series. Said she, “When I went onto Housewives when I was younger, I didn't have family, I didn't have a business, I didn't have partners. I think basically the important thing is how I'm just being honest about my perspective." Bethenny will be joining cast members Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan according to Bravo.

  • Apple Pay
Apple Pay Now Competes With Google Wallet, LoopPay and Softcard for the Virtual Mobile Payment Service Market

Apple Pay Now Competes With Google Wallet, LoopPay and Softcard for the Virtual Mobile Payment Service Market Apple released its virtual mobile wallet Apple Pay on Monday, October 20, alongside iOS 8.1, the next upgrade to the Apple mobile operating system which powers the new service. With Apple Pay, customers can buy merchandise at participating stores with just the tap of one of the new Apple 6 or 6 Plus iPhones, or the Apple Watch-compatible iPhone 5s, or the newly released iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Apple Pay supports credit and debit cards from the three major payment networks - American Express, MasterCard and Visa. A transaction can be authorized with the Touch ID fingerprint reader. To use the service, you take a picture of your credit cards and add them to the iPhone's Passbook. You can also add credit cards through your iTunes account. The actual card numbers, the card security code, your name and other personal information are not actually stored either on the phone or with Apple. For each transaction, Apple Pay will create a 'dummy' account so if a hacker gets to it, what they got is just useless information. Instead of exchanging your card number with a retailer, the system will be sending a ‘payment token’ as a substitute. Payments with Apple Pay is immediately available at launch at the 262 Apple retail stores in the US, as well as at such leading retailers as Aéropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Babies ”R” Us, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Bloomingdale’s, Champs Sports, Chevron and Texaco retail stores including ExtraMile, Disney Store, Duane Reade, Footaction, Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Macy’s, McDonald’s, Nike, Office Depot, Panera Bread, Petco, RadioShack, RUN by Foot Locker, SIX:02, Sports Authority, SUBWAY, Toys”R”Us, Unleashed by Petco, Walgreens, Wegmans and Whole Foods Market. For online shopping, apps with the ability to use Apple Pay at launch include: Apple Store app, Chairish, Fancy, Groupon, HotelTonight, Houzz, Instacart, Lyft, OpenTable, Panera Bread, Spring, Staples, Target and Uber. All in all, Apple Pay is accepted at about 220,000 U.S. merchants. Apple Pay is the latest addition to the virtual wallet service business, joining Google Wallet, Loop Wallet, and Softcard. However, according to Consumer Reports, Apple’s new Apple Pay “looks like an also-ran.” The report notes: “The Achilles Heel is Apple Pay's dependence on near field communications [NFC] technology, which transmits data over the inch or so between the iPhone and an NFC receiver connected to the store's payment processing system....Yes, more smart phone owners are finding that their handsets are a convenient payment device, with 30 percent using them to make online purchases and 24 percent to pay bills. But so far only 17 percent use their smart phone to pay for store purchases, according to a recent Federal Reserve study, and if that's to grow, mobile wallet providers will have to break out of the NFC [near-field communications] prison.” Of the four mobile virtual wallet service providers, only Loop Wallet is not dependent on NFC technology.

Kevin Love Willing To Do Whatever It Takes For The Cleveland Cavaliers To Win

Kevin Love Willing To Do Whatever It Takes For The Cleveland Cavaliers To Win At 26 years of age, the 6-10 power forward/center Kevin Love has already accumulated much in terms of credentials. He is a three-time All-Star and he holds the record for double figures in both points scored and rebounds made for the longest streak of consecutive games played. Love was also a member of the gold medal-winning Team USA at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Yet, despite all that, Love said that it has been “very, very, very bittersweet to say the least that I’ve had to watch playoff basketball for the last six years.” Now, playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers alongside four-time MVP LeBron James and two-time All-Star Kyrie Irving, Love may finally get his chance not only to make it to the playoffs but very likely to be a member of the next NBA Championship Team. In an interview with Michael Lee of the Washington Post, Love said: “I’d be lying to myself and everybody here if I was telling you I didn’t have to sacrifice. I’m willing to do whatever it takes for this team to win because at the end of the day, that’s what we want, is to win.... I’m a Cleveland Cavalier. And I’m happy to be here. All that is in the past now, I’m here now and I’m not really focusing on 2015. I’m focused on today.” Love also said: “I’m very hungry. I know that there’s not a lack of hunger throughout our entire lineup.... It’s going to take a concerted effort from everybody to bring our knowledge of the game, to bring our competitive streaks and to bring our strength and honor to this team. It’s not going to be just us three.... The good advice I got early on in my career and early on in life is that if you chase the game, all the good things will chase you. That’s just always what I’ve taken to heart.”
